For speed stars, the difference is that the game turns each step into a continual optimization. Players have to accelerate forcefully and maintain total body stability. Each move has evident strategic importance and the competitive feel is significantly more realistic than it seems at first glance. The closer you go to the finish line, the more pressure there is since the tiniest mistake may wipe away all you have done before in nano seconds. Here speed doesn’t just refer to velocity, but also the ability to maintain performance under the pressure of intense competition. Players are not only sprinting to win, they are increasingly showing their self-control when faced with high boundaries.
